With more than 100 years of manufacturing experience Slades in Australia’s premier beverage producer, priding itself in producing a variety quality soft drinks and waters for the general public and on a contract packaging basis.

The Company known today as Slades Soft Drinks had its humble beginnings back in 1867. The story started when Frederick Moneaux O’Neil and brother Thomas began their first soft drink home delivery business in Victoria, Melbourne.

Trading under the name of O’Neil Brothers Soft Drinks, they established the manufacturing and distribution at 9 -11 Woodside Street, North Fitzroy. They had a simple marketing strategy: to produce quality drinks. Eventually, they developed a large clientele in the surrounding districts, transporting by the faithful “horse and cart’ delivery. They began to produce a wide range of drinks and selling beverages door to door.

With the popularity of their quality drinks, they were able to expand to include all the metropolitan suburbs. Their home delivery service became a household favourite which also included many hotels. In 1930, a change of name was deemed appropriate, and Slade being one of the christian names of Frederick was selected as being the most appropriate to carry on the family name. From that year onwards, the company has been known as Slades Soft Drinks Pty Ltd.

Today, our manufacturing facility is stretched across 60,000 square feet of production site and warehouse in the industrial town of Thomastown, Victoria. We still hold the same mission in providing healthy and quality assured beverages. With more than 100 years of manufacturing experience, we pride ourselves in producing quality soft drinks and water.
